This ePBS feature is vital, considering 90% of block building currently runs through centralized relays. Talk about a single point of failure.

Network activity is through the roof. A record-shattering 8.7 million smart contracts deployed in Q4 2025, blowing past the previous 6 million record from 2021. Daily transactions? Over 2 million. Institutional money isn’t just dipping toes anymore – they’re diving in headfirst.

Later in 2026, Hegota will combine the Bogota execution layer with Heze consensus layer upgrades. The big prize here is Verkle Trees, shrinking node storage requirements from terabytes to gigabytes. Game changer.

Between these upgrades, Pectra will focus on staking flexibility and fee stability. These improvements maintain critical support levels at $3,000 while the network scales. The integration of Proof of Stake technology has significantly improved Ethereum’s energy efficiency and long-term sustainability. The full scope and detailed features of Hegota will be finalized on January 5 in a crucial developer meeting. It’s all building toward the ambitious 100,000+ TPS target via Layer-2 solutions.

The days of congested networks and sky-high gas fees might actually be numbered. For longtime Ethereum followers who’ve endured years of delays and compromises, this accelerated roadmap isn’t just invigorating – it’s revolutionary.
